It sure ain't "mainstream" media (but what media that matters is mainstream anymore?), and I actually disagree with what he's doing here, but that's often the case with lower-back tattos in the media.  I read this one as someone who trusts their childhood instincts too much and grows up misrepresenting the past in their imagination.  "In MY day...."
